This image of aurora was taken in Senja Island in the Arctic Norway. Aurora has been observed by human as early as 30,000 years ago showed by the paintings in the cave that believe to be the aurora. There are many legends associate with aurora, the North American Inuit call it aqsarniit, or football players, they believed the aurora is the spirits of the dead playing football with the head of a walrus.

We had just parked at the upper parking lot at Fjadrargljufur and were walking down to the overview platform when we heard a distant rumble. Paula Mermelstein was ready to get back to the car at the sound of those thunders but me and Robert A. James rushed down to grab some shots as the clouds were simply EPIC. What a treat this day was. Packed with rainbows and amazing light conditions. 😍
